Mercy
Spirituality |
"God knows I would rather be cold and hungry than that the poor should be deprived of any consolation in our power to afford". (Letters, 1st Nov, 1838) |
| For
Catherine |
Mercy
was |
where
the need was, |
And
where she saw need, |
she
saw Christ, |
She
equated Mercy with Justice |
and
she tried to redress |
injustices,
whether |
spiritual,
material, social or cultural. |
She
would urge us to do the same, |
in
a darkened world |
where
bewildered people |
are
crying out |
for
some touch, |
some
contact with God. |

| This is what Yahweh asks of you: | |||
| to act justly, | |||
| to love tenderly, | |||
| to walk humbly | |||
| with your God. | |||
